ASIAN IMPACT SOCIETY

Welcomes you to the

I

COLLABORATE

We hope to collaborate with local businesses and other non-profit organizations to facilitate ways in which we can work together to help combat discrimination and hate in our communities. We plan to create and host events in and around the Tri-Cities to bring all communities together.

II

SHARE

We want this to be a platform where people can share their stories of racial discrimination or hate within their community. It is important to hear the stories of others and how it has affected them. This is the only way we can learn from one another and heal. It will also enable us to find out ways in which we can help.

III

SUPPORT

It is so important for us at Asian Impact Society to support others particularly the seniors and youth in our community. We hope to achieve this by way of financial aid, care packages, connecting people to the right organizations for support, or creating bursaries for the youth in our community.

IV

EDUCATE

Education is the key to dismantling discrimination against others. We hope to learn more about the impacts of racism and mental health, the colourful history of Asians in our very own community, and we hope to connect and feature some prominent figures in our community to speak to us about the topic of racism and how we can build a better and more inclusive future for the next generation.

We acknowledge that Asian Impact Society operates on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem First Nation). We thank the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm who continue to live on these lands and care for them, along with the waters and all that is above and below.
